9. The Soul Stone Is Linked To The Ancestral Plane
In Black Panther, we paid a visit to the Ancestral Plane where both T'Challa and Erik Killmonger were able to communicate with their respective fathers in the afterlife. With Wakanda's origins tied to some sort of meteor from outer space (which is where Vibranium came from), it's no wonder fans started theorising that the Soul Stone might be there.
After all, by that point, we had seen Thanos and his Outriders attacking the city, so it seemed to only make sense that Black Panther was hiding it.
Instead, Avengers: Infinity War revealed that the Soul Stone was on Vormir, being guarded by the Red Skull.
As cool as that may have been, this was still a missed opportunity on Marvel Studios' part. The theory even went so far as to suggest that the Soul Stone's links to Wakanda could be used to bring back those who had died, but having now seen Avengers: Endgame, it's fair to say that might have made things a little too easy for Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
