10. Controversial Casting Choices

There have been some terrible casting choices in the various movies based on Marvel comic books - Julian McMahon as Doctor Doom, Topher Grace as Venom, Vinnie Jones as Juggernaut and Wes Bentley as Blackheart to name just a few examples - and the backlash from audiences because of both the original castings and the resulting performances from those actors have been terrible. With that in mind, you'd think that DC would go for safe choices when it came to their casting, but no such luck. The castings of Ben Affleck as Batman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Gal Gadot in particular have gone down badly - with the Affleck casting resulting in absolute furore - but DC are unlikely to let this stop them and will continue to cast controversially rather than using obvious actors for every role.
