10 Marvel Movie Mistakes DC Will Undoubtedly Repeat
9. Too Much Unnecessary Romance
Some of Marvel's movies have had romances that worked - Peter Parker's relationships with Mary Jane Watson and Gwen Stacy in the two respective Spider-Man franchises and Steve Rogers relationship with Peggy Carter, for example, were quite charming. But for every romance that worked there's a pointless and contrived romance like Thor and Jane Foster's or Johnny Blaze and Roxanne Simpson's. DC have already hinted at a future romance between Superman and Lois Lane and you can guarantee that the Man of Steel won't be the only iconic DC hero getting some female companionship. It's fine in small doses - and the Superman and Lois Lane relationship is one we expect and can handle - but every hero that emerges is likely to have a love interest and that just detracts from what we really go to watch comic book movies for, which is action.
