10 Marvel Organisations That Should Appear In The MCU
9. HAMMER
In the Secret Invasion crossover event, Norman Osborn stopped the Skrull invasion of Earth by killing the Veranke, the Queen of the Skrull Empire. For some reason, this gave the leadership of the United States temporary insanity, because despite Osborns long history of criminal activity, he was put in charge of SHIELD. His first order of business was to change the name from SHIELD to HAMMER (which was an acronym that didnt stand for anything). That was the beginning of the Dark Reign event that saw Osborn running the worlds foremost security agency. Despite how ludicrous the entire Dark Reign event was, and even though Osborn is off-bounds because Sony owns the rights to the Spider-Man characters, the idea of HAMMER could be used in the MCU. SHIELD is now in shambles, and Fury has appointed Coulson the new Director to rebuild. But we could see the rise of a more sinister organization in the form of HAMMER, one that could cause more trouble for the heroes. And given that the people behind the MCU have slightly tweaked the meaning of the SHIELD acronym, maybe we could finally get a meaning for HAMMER.
