10 Marvel Superheroes For Phase 4 (And Who Should Play Them)

2. Spider-Woman - Victoria Justice

Spider-Woman isn€™t quite as similar to Spider-Man as you might think - Jessica Drew is from London, was poisoned by Uranium at a young age, and can blast electricity from her hands. She also has more familiar skills like the ability to crawl on walls and enhanced agility, strength and reflexes. She gained her powers after her scientist father injected her with untested spider-based serum to try and cure the poisoning. In the years since her inception in 1977, Jessica/Spider-Woman€™s allegiances have shifted greatly between good and evil. At one stage, she spied on S.H.I.E.L.D. for HYDRA so that the latter would help develop her powers. Her unique powers and this chequered past could make for an interesting spin-off to the Spider-Man franchise a few years down the line. The only problem is this €“ you€™d need to cast someone of a similar age to Tom Holland. If Peter Parker is meant to be high school age, Jessica Drew can hardly be in her thirties. Marvel and Sony would surely never suggest that Tom Holland€™s Spidey wasn€™t the first arachnid-hero in the MCU. That€™s why Victoria Justice €“ of MTV€™s Eye Candy - seems like a good fit. As well as having a heroic surname, she€™s close enough in age (22) to Tom Holland (19) that she can get her powers in a few years without infringing on Spidey€™s originality to soon. Of course, Marvel and Sony€™s co-produced Spider-Man film needs to seriously succeed before they can think about spin-offs.
