10 Marvel Superheroes For Phase 4 (And Who Should Play Them)

4. Ms Marvel - Rowan Blanchard

Born in New Jersey, Kamala Khan is a young Pakistani-American who feels like something of an outsider at school and at home. She has nerdy interests and feels like she doesn€™t conform to the conventional image of beauty. A huge fan of superheroes (particularly Captain Marvel), Kamala suddenly gets to live the dream and become one after being exposed to the Terrigen Mists (which awaken latent superpowers in descendants of the ancient aliens who once lived on Earth, The Inhumans). Her new shape-shifting superpowers allow Kamala to desert the appearance she dislikes and transform into her hero, Captain Marvel. She instinctively begins fighting crime, and finds that she can also stretch her body to great lengths. Eventually, she stops mimicking Captain Marvel and adopts her own heroic persona as Ms. Marvel. This is a tough one to cast, as you need someone who is young, likeable, a believable geek, and able to convincingly portray the low self-esteem that Kamala suffers as a victim of bullying. If Marvel want to keep it close to home, Rowan Blanchard of the Disney Channel€™s Girl Meets World show may be up for the task. Even if they opt for someone else, Ms. Marvel would make for a great Phase 4 film, especially after Captain Marvel and The Inhumans are set up in Phase 3.
