10 Massive Movie Predictions From The Past That Never Came True

3. Escape From New York/Escape From LA - Prison State

escape-from-la_600x300 Did anyone notice when New York was turned into a maximum security prison back in 1988? No? Didn't think so. That's you disproving Escape From New York. The idea of the film made sense in a lot of ways, however; with crime in New York rising sharply, the army mined the bridges, built a ridiculously high wall, formed a prison state, kept the worst of the worst crims in there and shot anyone who tried to leave. The whole thing goes awry when the President crash-lands in the city though. Having learned nothing from this adventure, they go on to do the same thing to LA when massive Earthquakes rip the city off of the mainland USA. Well, that didn't happen in reality either and for that matter neither did the satellite death device from the second film - although we'd never know about the latter until it was too late really, but it probably didn't happen.
