10 Massively Underrated Horror Movies

6. A Tale Of Two Sisters

Halloween 3: Season of The Witch
Cineclick Asia

A Tale of Two Sisters never really caught on in the Western world, and that's a real shame because it's Korean horror at its terrifying best.

This film has everything a horror hound could ever ask for: buckets of blood, suspense, a wicked stepmother, supernatural terror and a cupboard scene that will leave you with a permanent phobia of kitchens.

Part family drama, party surrealist nightmare, A Tale of Two Sisters is a twisted version of the Korean fairy tale The Story of Rose and Lotus, but it isn't all horror and trauma. There's some beautiful cinematography in there too, and the transition between light and dark imagery is what the film does best.

A remake of the movie was released in the West in 2009 in the shape of The Uninvited, but this was a pale imitation of the original and a poor advert for the horrors it holds. Stick to the original for a true K-horror experience this Halloween.
