10 MCU Characters Who Died Way Too Soon

Thor (Chris Hemsworth) sure has lost a ton of people close to him over the years, but the deaths of his pals the Warriors Three - that's Fandral (Joshua Dallas/Zachary Levi), Hogun (Tadanobu Asano) and Volstagg (Ray Stevenson) - at hands of Hela (Cate Blanchett) in Thor: Ragnarok felt almost immediately brushed under the carpet.

Now in fairness, the characters have always been peripheral comic relief at best, and let's be honest, nobody really remembers much about Fandral beyond his facial hair, nor anything about Hogun but him being "the Asian one."

The only member of the trio with an actual semblance of personality was unmistakably Volstagg, who while perhaps a stereotypical picture of Norse excess, was nevertheless totally charming and likeable.

It definitely would've made sense to keep one of the Warriors Three alive to better sell the loss of the other two, and given his easy chemistry with Thor, it absolutely should've been Volstagg.

Considering how much Thor has lost in recent times - not least the original Asgard itself - giving him a legacy link to the good 'ol days would've made a ton of dramatic sense. Instead, Hela chucks a blade in his chest and he's never spoken of again.
