10 MCU Deleted Scenes That Should've Stayed In Their Movies

9. Alternate Opening (Iron Man 2)

The Scene: Picking up right after the Marvel logo, this alternate opening finds Tony throwing up in the toilet before arguing with Pepper about his decision to leap out the plane, before, uh, leaping out of the plane, but not before that famous shot from the trailers - Pepper kissing the helmet - graces our screens.

Why It Should've Stayed: Iron Man 2 wasn't wholly Iron Man's movie. It was focused on setting up the Avengers, expanding the Marvel universe and fully introducing characters like Fury and Romanoff. As a result, it lacked some of that spark that made the first movie so special - namely, Tony Stark being Tony Stark.

And this is him at his finest - cocky, arrogant and selfish, just how we like it. The shot of Pepper smooching the helmet was a big part of nearly every trailer too, so its omission from the film always felt odd, and would have added to the playful nature of their relationship.

The Iron Man 2 opening we were given was overly dark and grim and felt completely disconnected. Opening with the villain was a mistake here; we all wanted Iron Man from the get-go, to get us on board with the movie from the very beginning, but instead, we spent a full five minutes watching some Russian dude tinker with his soldering kit.
