10 MCU Filming Locations You Must Visit In Europe
1. London, England (So Many Films!)
Finally, we turn our attention to the most used Marvel location in Europe, London. The English capital has been used in a great proportion of MCU films. The iconic buildings have helped magnify the importance of certain scenes and battles, which have provided fantastic cinematic experiences.
While being filmed in Liverpool, Captain America: The First Avenger was also filmed in London. Funnily enough, the scene where Steve Rogers was surrounded by dancing girls on stage, acting patriotic, was in fact filmed at Hackney Empire. Try and catch a show at the theatre, fortunately it won't be Captain America's embarrassing show.
Thor: The Dark World also featured London heavily. As seen in the image, Thor took the famous London Underground at Charing Cross, looking very awkward in the process. Most noticeably, the final battle with Maliketh was filmed at Greenwich as well, as his ship comes crashing into the lawns of the college. In fact, you can have a meal at the location of Jane Foster's awful date (OXO Tower).
Surprisingly, despite being set in outer space, part of the Guardians of the Galaxy featured London too. During Ronin's assault of Xandar, the bridge which passengers were fleeing from was actually the Millennium Bridge.
Doctor Strange featured Scotland Yard, during The Ancient One's battle with Kaescilius. The building was manipulated in a very entertaining way, as the sorcerers used reality-bending powers.
Spiderman: Far From Home also filmed a battle in London, as Peter Parker defeated Mysterio in the capital. The movie featured the Shard, where Nick Fury was based overlooking the conflict. The Tower of London was used as Happy Hogan and Peter's classmates searched for a safe location, while, the main battle took place on the iconic Tower Bridge, where Spiderman was able to finally defeat Mysterio.
Additionally, if you decide to visit London for some of these locations. Madame Tussauds should also be high on that list. The museum has not been used in filming, however it has a room dedicated to Marvel wax figures which look amazing and a 4D movie!
