10 MCU Filming Locations You Must Visit In Europe

9. Salisbury, England (Thor: The Dark World)

Despite being regarded as one of the worst MCU movies, Thor: The Dark World included several interesting European filming locations. The mysterious English location in Salisbury, Stonehenge is present in the Phase 2 movie.

For as bad as the sequel is, the mystery surrounding the construction of Stonehenge was a great way to symbolise human life attempting to understand the existence of aliens, after the Chitauri Invasion. Of course, this was balanced with the inclusion of a naked Erik Selvig running around the site.

Stonehenge also has a history in the comics, with the location holding importance to Doctor Strange, perceived as a place that holds great mystic powers. The location is also used by Black Knight to destroy an enchanted sword. Could Stonehenge be used in the upcoming movie Eternals, with Black Knight being portrayed by Kit Harrington?

Either way, despite the scene involving Erik Selvig (and the movie) being widely criticized, locations that were used in the film were positive. Stonehenge is a marvel to experience (ignore the pun), just make sure you keep your clothes on!
