5. Doctor Octopus
When the trailers for Spider-Man: No Way Home confirmed that there would be at least five villains playing a part in the movie, most fans assumed this would be some form of the Sinister Six, with arguably the most excitement surrounding the return of Doctor Octopus.
In the Sam Raimi Spider-Man universe, Otto Octavius fell victim to his own ambition, as an experiment gone wrong resulted in his brain being corrupted. After fighting with Spider-Man, the villain seemingly saw the error of his ways before dying, but when he was thrown into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he was as villainous as ever.
He fought Spidey on a bridge and had to be contained by his own tentacles before Peter was able to cure him from his madness. As soon as this was done, almost like sucking poison out of a wound, Otto was returned to normal. However, this wasn’t the end of his story.
Whereas everyone previously thought he would be fighting against Spider-Man atop the Statue of Liberty, he actually fought side by side with the three Peter Parkers before being transported back home. No one saw that coming at the start of No Way Home.
