10 MCU Mistakes You Can NEVER Unsee
1. Speedy Shield Repair (Avengers: Endgame)
One of the most memorable images in Endgame was the sight of Captain America's shield getting hammered to pieces by Thanos.
Up until that point, Cap's iconic armament had survived gods, aliens, and an angry Peggy Carter with a gun, so to see it finally fall was a massive shock, and an intimidating reminder of Thanos' unparalleled might.
For such an important moment then, you'd think the filmmakers would remember to keep the shield's state consistent for the rest of the film.
But apparently not.
Mere minutes later - just after Cap's Avengers reinforcements have arrived via their respective portals - there's a wide shot of the battlefield where the shield is visibly whole again (below, on the right of the image), directly contradicting its destruction in the previous scene.
This entire "heroes return" sequence took a lot of tinkering to get right - according to co-writer Stephen McFeely, it was re-shot a couple of times - which explains why continuity errors like this one slipped through the cracks.
