10 MCU Mistakes You Can NEVER Unsee
4. Improvised Error (Captain America: Civil War)
This entry is a little different, because the mistake was actually incorporated into the flow of the scene. But once you know that it's a goof rather than a scripted moment, you won't be able to watch it in the same way again.
Captain America: Civil War saw Peter Parker/Spider-Man make his highly-anticipated MCU debut, with the character being introduced as Tony Stark's protégé. Tony recruits the young high-schooler after showing up at his house and trying his Aunt May's decidedly average walnut date loaf, leading to a terrific scene where Peter has a heart-to-heart with his newfound mentor.
Towards the end of this scene, Tony rises from his chair and goes to sit on the bed, cheekily asking Peter to move his leg out the way. As revealed by co-director Anthony Russo during the movie's commentary track, this was actually a mistake that ended up in the final cut - Tom Holland forgot the blocking of the scene, and rather than starting from scratch, Robert Downey Jr decided to keep going, staying in character while reminding his co-star to shift his leg off the bed.
It's little moments like this that further reinforce the fact that Robert Downey Jr isn't acting - he is Tony Stark.
