10 MCU Moments That Don't Quite Fit

2. Girl Power - Avengers Endgame

What are the mathematical chances of the nine main female heroes all being at the right place at the right time amid Endgame's epic final battle?

Marvel have had some great female heroes over the years, but for the longest time seemed to lack the confidence to ever put the spotlight on them, or give them their own movie. The fact Black Widow didn't get a solo flick until after she died was testament to that.

In this case then, it's another example of "It's not what you do. It's the way that you do it". Once ALL of the heroes arrive through magic portals, an epic melee ensues between hundreds, if not thousands, of combatants.

During the fracas, Spider Man is tasked with transporting the Infinity Gauntlet into safe hands. A battered Peter Parker is knocked to the ground when Captain Marvel arrives. After delivering another line doesn't quite fit ("You got something for me Peter Parker?") eight other female heroes simultaneously arrive on the scene.

From the audience's standpoint there is no prior communication between the women and no explanation for why they all just happened to be right where they needed to be. It's cool to see them all together, but falls flat because most of these women have no history with each other, no shared bond that allows this team up to truly resonate.

Keep letting women kick ass, but next time portray them in a way that doesn't elicit as many groans.
