10 MCU Moments That Don't Quite Fit

1. Steve And Sharon's Kiss - Captain America: Civil War

This is another example of an idea that sounded great at the moment, but feels awkward in hindsight. Even if one accepts the idea that Steve Rogers would be romantically involved with his soul mate's niece, the entire romance story arc ended at Civil War.

Since before Steve Rogers became a super soldier, he was enamored with agent Peggy Carter. Hers was the last face he saw and voice he heard before becoming a "Cap-cicle". We see Cap struggle when he returns 70 years later, knowing that Peggy continued to live her life, grow old, and eventually die.

Despite this, after Steve finds out that his cute neighbor has been spying on him AND is Peggy's niece, they share a romantic kiss in front of Falcon and Bucky. Then...that's it. Thanks to the merits of time travel, Steve quickly ditched the new and improved Agent Carter for the original recipe.

Had Marvel's creative committee known that Steve and Peggy would be together in the end, the brief romance with Sharon just made no sense. If they didn't know Steve and Peggy would be together in the end, no effort was made to address the fact that Sharon was being dumped for her dead aunt. It just doesn't quite fit.
