8. Hawkeye - Captain America: The Winter Soldier

It's fair to say that Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye has been painfully underused in the MCU. Even when he's been a key story component (as in both Avengers movies), he's lacked the necessary screen-time to really last in memory, and the unfortunate result has been everyone thinking he's going to be the first proper Avenger to be killed off.

That might change when he gets an expanded arc in Infinity War, but it shouldn't have got to this stage. Which it might not have had his planned cameo in Captain America: The Winter Soldier given him a little more screentime as intended.

When Cap goes on the run after discovering HYDRA's infiltration of SHIELD, Hawkeye was going to be the agent assigned to take Steve Rogers back to his paymasters (presumably dead or alive), and the pair were supposed to get a fight scene. Just think, arrows versus a target shield...

Sadly, the fight and his appearance - which would have led to him giving Cap some vital information and throwing the fight - were cut entirely.
