Reshoots are a normal part of the filmmaking process, at least for major blockbusters. With so much money being spent, it makes sense to book in an extra few weeks to add a bit more polish to the movie, and Wonder Woman was no exception.

The only problem with reshoots is that they usually take place months after principal photography has been completed, meaning that the actors can look wildly different from when they shot the bulk of their scenes. This, in turn, can create continuity errors, so if the star of the film now has, say, a moustache (and they didn't before), steps have to be taken to erase that moustache and get them looking like their "normal" selves.

Wonder Woman faced a similar problem. While principal photography went smoothly, Gal Gadot was five months pregnant by the time reshoots began, which obviously posed some problems, since the Amazonian couldn't just randomly sprout a baby bump midway through the film.

And so, the VFX department came to the rescue. The team cut out a triangle from the front of her suit and replaced it with a bright green cloth, which they could then key out in post-production. This allowed them to make her stomach flat, perfectly in line with how it looked during the main shooting period.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
