10 Mind-Blowing Hidden Clues You Never Noticed In Classic Movies

9. An Offhand Remark From A Rekall Technician Explains The Ending - Total Recall

Arnie's face If you've ever seen Total Recall, you probably came out scratching your head. Was is all a dream, after all? What happened? The movie stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as Douglas Quaid, a labourer who wishes for a more exciting life, and goes to a company called Rekall in order to have fake memory implants. He opts for the secret agent package, but everything goes horribly wrong and it's revealed he's actually a real secret agent who happened to have his memory wiped. But are we actually just watching Quaid's fake memories play out? The answer has been long debated. And although there are certainly lots of clues littered throughout Total Recall addressing both sides of the argument, there's a throwaway line at the beginning of the movie that lets us know the truth. Whilst setting up the specifics of Quaid's procedure, a Rekall technician can be heard casually saying: "Blue sky on Mars, never seen that one before" whilst being handed a chip, which is of course what happens at the end of the movie when Quaid terraforms the planet, confirming it's all a dream. If it were real life, how would anybody have known such a specific thing would actually happen, right? Hey, it pays to listen.
