10 Mind-Blowing Hidden Clues You Never Noticed In Classic Movies

5. Dick Halloran's Death Is Foreshadowed Via Danny's Toy - The Shining

Shining In The Shining, a writer named Jack Torrance takes a job as a winter caretaker at a secluded hotel, and brings his family along for the ride. There they meet a friendly African-American man named Dick Halloran, who advises them on procedure before he leaves. It turns out, though, that the hotel is haunted and Jack is driven insane to the point in which he tries to brutally murder his wife and son. Hey, it happens. The director of this movie, Stanley Kubrick, was renowned for his obsessive attention to detail: it certainly shows in The Shining. I could have probably singled out dozens of hidden clues in this movie, given that there are plenty scattered throughout, but take a look at the first picture there, which shows a scene from the beginning of the movie. Notice the little black teddy bear wearing a red jumper on the floor? At first, it just seems to be what it is: a toy on the floor, left by Jack's son Danny. But check out the second shot, which depicts the death of Dick Halloran later on. He's killed in the spot where the black teddy with red jumper was placed, with the jumper symbolising the blood. And sure, had this been any other director, you might have argued coincidence: not with Kubrick, though.
