10 Minor Film Characters That Ruined Everything For Everyone

3. The STARS Sniper €“ Resident Evil: Apocalypse

Resident Evil - Nemesis Resident Evil: Apocalypse was a pretty poor film all the way through, spectacularly failing to deliver on the modicum of promise the first Resident Evil film €“ which wasn€™t that terrible, be honest €“ kept. However, the STARS team did seem an awesome lot fully capable of withstanding a zombie assault from their bunker. They€™re armed to the teeth and appear to be in this for the long haul €“ that is, at least, until Nemesis shows up and obliterates the whole place. Yet what makes this whole scene extremely weird is that it could€™ve been over extremely quickly. The whole scene operates as a cipher to show just how formidable Nemesis is, and to do that it has to show just how well-armed the STARS lot are. The way it€™s made obvious it through the use of the STARS sniper, who seems content to gun down zombies with aplomb, exploding heads like watermelons. Then, of course, Nemesis shows up. What happens next is almost pant-wettingly idiotic. The sniper has been slotting moving targets through the temple with almost embarrassing ease, but when a stationary Nemesis shows up, he suddenly forgets how to do anything, shooting the monstrosity through the chest. Granted, the scene is supposed to work as a way to show how indestructible the big baddie was, but if this sniper had just aimed for the head, we might€™ve been dealing with a much shorter film. It€™s not as if he didn€™t have the time €“ he gets another chest-shot off and is lining up a third before he€™s exploderised with a rocket launcher.
