10 Misguided Career Moves Made By Talented Actors

7. Sir. Ben Kingsley Slumming It

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdP_GNTg3rQ Sir. Ben Kingsley is, to a point, one of the most respected actors in the history of movies; he won an Oscar for his unforgettable portrayal of Ghandi, and has received follow-up nominations for films as excellent as Sexy Beast and The House of Sand and Fog. However, there was a period after this film where I'd all but given up on the actor, and that was when he starred in Thunderbirds as The Hood...and then took a part in Uwe Boll's Bloodrayne...and then played an eccentric Guru in The Love Guru...and then the baddie in the Prince of Persia movie...and then a supporting character in The Dictator. Though Kingsley has had some good films in between - namely Scorsese's Hugo - the guy in his old age seems to be moving his career more towards paycheque roles and silly comedy, a waste of the man's talents that are far more suited in the dramatic and dark comedy arena. Still, the guy has tremendous respect in the industry, and I look forward to seeing how he fares as The Mandarin in Iron Man 3 later this month.
