10 Mistakes Marvel Need To Avoid With Black Widow
1. The Stakes
The Mistake: Marvel movies are beginning to seem a bit cowardice recently. We're into Phase 3 of these films and despite plenty of opportunity, they have yet to kill off one of their main heroes. Sure, Quicksilver and Coulson bit the dust, but those seemed more like cop outs than anything.
No doubt it's hard to get rid of a cash cow but the every time these heroes are able to walk away from world-ending situation without any casualties, it gives the sense that there are no real stakes to the whole thing.
The Solution: Kill off Black Widow.
It may seem like a cruel joke to finally give the character her own film only to kill her off, but there is no better time. As fun as this character is, there is scarcely any room in this universe for a non-super-powered person. Thee threats are becoming too big and there are too many other more qualified heroes to take up the fight.
Really, what is she going to do against Thanos anyway?
Instead of making her the death used to rally the team together, give her a quieter, cathartic death. Let her die on her last mission, putting an end to the Black Widow program and saving a young girl from the horrors she herself faced. A fitting end to a character that truly deserves one.
