10 Mistakes Which Ruin Awesome Movie Scenes

1. Dorothy's Slippers Randomly Disappear - The Wizard Of Oz

Basically every single scene in The Wizard of Oz is iconic in one way or another, and who can forget the giddily entertaining moment where Dorothy (Judy Garland) and the Scarecrow (Ray Bolger) find themselves fighting some anthropomorphic apple trees?

As the Scarecrow is pelted with apples and knocked to the floor, however, eagle-eyed audiences may notice that Dorothy bizarrely isn't wearing her signature ruby slippers, the very ones which are pivotal to the movie's narrative and to Dorothy's ability to return home.

Instead, she's wearing regular black shoes.

Considering how much Dorothy's sparkly ruby slippers stand out, it's a particularly egregious mistake, especially as there wasn't much of a practical reason for Judy Garland not to be wearing the things.

Perhaps the ruby slippers pinched her feet and nobody expected the camera to pan down far enough to catch Garland's more causal footwear? Just a guess.
