10 Modern Slasher Horror Movie Villains That Went Unnoticed
6. The Slashers - Haunt
In Haunt, Harper and her friends stumble upon a haunted house attraction in the woods, which is run by masked figures called The Slashers. After signing liability waivers and surrendering their mobile phones, the group enter the spooky mansion. (That should've been their first sign this place wasn't legit.)
At first, Harper and her friends are unimpressed by the facility's cheap budget and tacky methods at scaring them. But when Harper tries to leave, she learns the Slashers have trapped her party inside, and intend to kill them.
What makes the antagonists of Haunt different to most horror villains is how subversive their appearances are. Initially, the Slashers look reasonably frightening since they are dressed as witches, devils, clowns, and ghosts. However, you assume they won't be so intimidating, once we get a peek of what they look like underneath.
But because the Slashers have mutilated their faces, they are WAY scarier when they take their costumes off. Even though you're expecting the Slashers to look a little creepy, no one is prepared the first time you see them for what they really are.
