10 Moments Comic Book Movies Dropped The Ball

1. The Hulk-Widow Romance - Avengers: Age Of Ultron

Three years after the coming together of the Avengers in 2012, the team was brought back together for Age of Ultron. Naturally, the movie would see Earth's Mightiest Heroes grow and evolve. The roster grew by two enhanced beings, Tony found his new motivation, and Clint was finally developed as much as he deserved.

While all of these added to the dynamic of the team, there was one aspect that did nothing but detract from the Avengers and the movie itself. This was the romance between Bruce and Natasha, something that came completely out of the blue and felt simply shoe-horned in for the sake of it.

Both characters already had strong emotional arcs continuing through the narrative of the movie, with Bruce struggling to contain the Hulk, ultimately destroying a South African town and seeing the world turn on him, and Natasha being made to relive her horrific upbringing in the Red Room. There was simply no benefit to forcing together two characters that clearly didn't belong.

From the cringe-inducing moment they were flirting in the bar, to the terrible scene on Clint's farm, we're left simply scratching our heads and questioning what on Earth Joss Whedon was thinking when he paired these two together.
