10 Moments Of Ridiculously Smart Foreshadowing In The MCU

8. Wakanda - Iron Man 2

Much of the criticism surrounding the second Iron Man film lies in the fact that it acts less as a proper sequel to the first Iron Man film and more a set up for The Avengers. While it does suffer a little for that, it does succeed in setting up future events beyond even the second Avengers movie. At the end of Iron Man 2, Tony Stark meets with Nick Fury to discuss the Avengers Initiative and finds himself booked in a consultancy capacity only. But that wasn't the only thing going on in the scene. The map behind him reveals multiple global locations where many - as of yet unrevealed heroes - reside. Not only was Iron Man's residence in California and the location of Thor's hammer in New Mexico noted, the map revealed some surprising locations. The middle of the Atlantic - a possible setting for a future Namor film? A place in mid Africa was identified too, which could only be the location of Blank Panther's home country of Wakanda, a whole seven years before it gets its spot in the limelight. Interestingly there was also a map of Antarctica among the belongings of Howard Stark in the same film. The location of the Savage Land perhaps? Who knows what Kevin Feige has planned in Phase 4 and beyond.
