10 Moments Of Ridiculously Smart Foreshadowing In The MCU
7. The Infinity Gauntlet - Thor
Marvel Phase 3 will go out on an almighty high with the adaptation of the story everyone has been waiting for since we first caught a glimpse of Thanos at the end of The Avengers; the Infinity Wars. One by one the Infinity Gems have been introduced; the Tesseract, Lokis Chitauri Sceptre, the Aether and the orb in the recent Guardians Of The Galaxy. But none of these are any use without the Infinity Gauntlet. Cleverly, the gauntlet was established way back in Thor, even before Thanos had made his appearance. As the Destroyer woke up and killed the two Frost Giant thieves in the Asgard weapons vault, the jewelled glove could be seen in the background. It hasn't been shown since but we can assume it won't stay there forever, certainly not after the apocalyptic events that are sure to surround Thor: Ragnarok. It is another example of the Marvel Cinematic universe laying down the foundation for events years in the making. Almost a decade in fact. That's some clever forshadowing for the events still to come.
A writer for Whatculture since May 2013, I also write for TheRichest.com and am the TV editor and writer for Thedigitalfix.com . I wrote two plays for the Greater Manchester Horror Fringe in 2013, the first an adaption of Simon Clark's 'Swallowing A Dirty Seed' and my own original sci-fi horror play 'Centurion', which had an 8/10* review from Starburst magazine! (http://www.starburstmagazine.com/reviews/eventsupcoming-genre-events/6960-event-review-centurion) I also wrote an episode for online comedy series Supermarket Matters in 2012. I aim to achieve my goal for writing for television (and get my novels published) but in the meantime I'll continue to write about those TV shows I love!
