1. Kate Mulgrew Was Misled About The Documentary's Content - The Principle
The Principle is a 2014 independent documentary film narrated by the great Kate Mulgrew.
It's not at all uncommon for actors to lend their authoritative voices to documentaries covering causes close to their hearts, but The Principle peddles the widely-debunked pseudoscientific theory that Earth is at the center of the universe.
It certainly wasn't a good look for Star Trek: Voyager star Mulgrew, especially given her prominence in the sci-fi community, but once the film's first trailer dropped, she revealed that she had been misled about the nature of the project, a claim backed up by several scientists interviewed for the film in bad faith.
Mulgrew issued a statement on Facebook confirming that she was tricked into lending her voice to the documentary and is in no way sympathetic to the controversial geocentrist movement, conceding that she was simply "a voice for hire, and a misinformed one, at that."
