10 More Actors Tricked Into Appearing In Movies
5. Zachary Levi Was Told He'd Have A "Huge" Role - Thor: The Dark World
Years before he played Shazam, Zachary Levi was cast as Fandral, the swashbuckling member of the Warriors Three in the original Thor. However, scheduling differences ultimately prevented him from playing the part, and so he was replaced with Josh Dallas on the first movie.
When Dallas himself was unavailable for sequel Thor: The Dark World, however, Kevin Feige went back to Levi, but as Levi revealed in a recent episode of the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, he had some major reservations about accepting.
Levi said that he insisted to talk to Feige about it directly, as after seeing the first Thor he felt that the Warriors Three were massively underutilised - and he's absolutely right.
Levi claims he asked Feige if Fandral would be short-served in The Dark World, to which the producer replied that he would have a "huge part."
But the reality? In Levi's own words, "Not so much, as it turned out."
You couldn't be blamed for forgetting that the Warriors Three were even in the movie at all, honestly, so minimal is their role in the overall scope of the story.
All the same, this didn't stop him returning once more for threequel Thor: Ragnarok, where he and his two teammates were rather unceremoniously killed by villain Hela (Cate Blanchett).
