After a staggering 15 years working on CBS' hit police procedural show NCIS, Pauley Perrette finally decided she was done playing Forensic Specialist Abby Sciuto in 2017.

But this wasn't simply a case of the fan-favourite actor feeling it was the right time to say goodbye to the series she'd been a part of since the beginning. Perette's reasons for departing actually seemingly involved one of her co-stars.

On top of suggesting on Twitter that she left the show after being bullied and physically assaulted, Perette eventually told her fans in 2019 that she would not be returning to NCIS ever.

According to the actor, she was terrified of co-star Mark Harmon attacking her, noting how she even had nightmares about it.

Going back to 2016, The Wrap reported how the two had a falling out due to executive producer Harmon bringing his dog to work and that canine biting one of the crew members. And after this dog was brought back to set post-bite - one that required 15-stitches - Perrette understandably objected to it being allowed in the workplace.

This all led to the pair having to shoot scenes separately going forward due to things being so tense between them, though an insider did also note how Perrette had decided to leave the show even before the fateful biting incident.

Whether that bite influenced her exit or not, Perrette still made it clear she had no intentions of ever working with Harmon or on NCIS again in the time before calling it a day as an actor in 2020.
