Silent Hill's legacy as a video game movie that didn't quite live up to the potential of its source material was probably solidified by its choice to throw in game monsters that bear no relevance to the movie world. Where the nurses represented the second video game protagonist's sexual anxiety, the movie threw them in for appearance alone - resulting in some unhappy fans despite seeing their favourite gaming motifs on the big screen.

Still, Silent Hill still offered up some original monster mayhem outside of your sexy, horrifying hospital staff and the ever-imposing Pyramid Head with the utterly rank Colin the Janitor. Appearing for one brief sequence where his corpse comes to life when Silent Hill shifts into its otherworldly domain, he crawls along the floor to Rose whilst lashing his tongue wildly - bound by barbed wire for his molesting behaviour in life and trapped in Silent Hill for his crimes.

Colin was designed so well he was even taken and used within the games, a strong merit indeed considering the titles are the best of their kind at representing physically imagined psychological torment.
