10 More Best Things The MCU Did Differently To The Comics

4. Nebula's Character Development

Of the most surprisingly gut-wrenching scenes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the time Nebula spends adjusting to having people care about her in Endgame is perhaps the most unexpectedly painful.

While in the comics Nebula only claims to be related to Thanos - something the villain himself finds deeply offensive - it is her close relationship with him in the films that makes her redemption so compelling.

As the franchise has developed, it has become more and more apparent that any cruelty that lies within Nebula is the product of her desperate attempts to get Thanos to approve of her, and thus more and more rewarding when she begins to develop into a hero who disregards pretty much everything he ever taught her.

Although there's basically no character that didn't suffer at the hands of Thanos, none did for as long as Nebula did, and so seeing her escape from his influence and develop into a character entirely outside of what he tried to make her can't help but make you feel good.
