10 More Body Horror Fates Worse Than Death

8. Tokyo Gore Police - Mutation, Mutation, Mutation

Few films in recent memory bring the splatter quite as hard as Tokyo Gore Police.

From Yoshihiro Nishimura - a man commonly compared to legendary SFX guru Tom Savini - this 2008 movie is nuts, is brimming with bloodshed, and is brilliantly brutal in so many of its key moments.

Leading the charge here, there's Eihi Shiina as Ruka, a troubled sort who is tasked with killing off creatures known as Engineers; humans who have been infected with a virus that mutates them into walking weapons.

Working alongside the police as an Engineer Hunter, Ruka herself undergoes quite the change as Tokyo Gore Police progresses. In her quest to find the person responsible for her father's death, she is infected with a tumor that eventually turns her left arm into an alien creature with razor claws.

To make matters worse, our central protagonist is later shot in the eye; her body soon replacing this lost eye with a cybernetic one, slowly making her more machine than woman. Ruka does end up tracking down the person behind her father's death - the corrupt police commissioner, obvs - but she's now stuck living a life of ever-evolving mutation.
