10 More Body Horror Fates Worse Than Death

5. Color Out Of Space - Fusing With Your Own Son

Given the sheer fact that it's based on a H. P. Lovecraft story, Colour Out of Space is a bizarre mish-mash of a movie that ticks plentiful body horror tropes - not least in what happens to Theresa Gardner (Joely Richardson) and her young son Jack (Julian Hilliard).

As Richard Stanley's 2019 movie gets going, Theresa rushes to Jack's rescue when she hears his screams. It's here, though, that a Necronomicon-summoned bolt of Color fuses this mother and son duo together.

The result of this fusion is a twisted mass that is a truly disturbing sight, and this hybrid creature only becomes more and more disfigured and meshed together as the film progresses, with Theresa's husband Nathan (Nicolas Cage) refuses to put this fused figure out of its misery.

For Theresa and Jack, it's an awful fate that makes the pair's bond a very literal one - all as the two lose their humanity and sanity as their fusion continues to intensify and mutate.

By the time Nathan himself is mentally broken and pushed towards erratic insanity, he eventually decides to euthanize his combined wife and son before Color Out of Space concludes.
