5. Stomach - The Borderlands (Final Prayer)
Unprepared in an understatement when it comes to the monster in this found footage horror flick. For a vast majority of its running time the viewer thinks they're watching a story about a haunted church. That is until the last several minutes however.
As the unfortunate protagonists proceed deeper and deeper into the bowls of the church, they find that the walls seem to be closing in. Not only that, but the stench of the air reeks a unholy fragrance and everything is oddly sticky. When the two start burning alive it becomes clear that they have somehow managed to crawl inside the stomach of an unknown creature.
Was it the cause of the haunting behind the church? Is it some sort of demon? Possibly a god even? There are no answers given as to what this monster is, and that makes it all the more horrifying. Sometimes ambiguity can be more annoying than anything, but here the lack of information only serves to heighten the terror.
The ending discovery of its existence not only flips the entire movie on its head, but will chill you to the bone.
