4. Z - Z
Much like in the previous entry, we're never told explicitly what this imaginary friend from hell actually is. Could it be a creature from another dimension? A spirit perhaps? Maybe a tulpa? Possibly a mix of all three?
Honestly, it doesn't really matter what Z is, and any explanation would most likely take away from its horror. Z is only shown a few times in full throughout the movie, but it only takes one look to know that you'll be wanting to sleep with the lights on. His long, pale, naked frame and that truly creepy smile on his face make him a monster seemingly ripped right out of the darkest depths of the human psyche.
It's not just his appearance though that's so unnerving, it's what we as the viewer eventually learn about him There is no way to anticipate the revelation about Z toward the third act of the movie. Without giving anything away, there is one thing Z wants, and he'll go to any lengths to get it. He's not just a monster, but a predator in more ways than one.
