10 More Crazy Star Wars Theories That Might Not Be Quite So Crazy
2. The Force Awakens & The Last Jedi Had Different Snokes
It might sound like a parody of a certain Gary Coleman-starring sitcom, but the Different Snokes theory is actually a pretty damn compelling one.
It suggests that when we saw a hologram of Snoke (Andy Serkis) in The Force Awakens and then glimpsed him in-the-flesh in The Last Jedi, we were actually looking at two different versions of Snoke.
The theory is based on two things - Snoke's facial features are markedly different in both films, and his personality is considerably more charismatic in The Last Jedi, while in his brief appearance in The Force Awakens, he was far more severe.
Were it not for the events of The Rise of Skywalker, it'd probably be pretty difficult to buy into this one, but given that it revealed Snoke to be one of many clones created by Palpatine, it's actually not out of the question at all.
Perhaps the Snokes had limited lifespans and needed replacement, or maybe Palpatine strategically positioned numerous Snoke clones to do his bidding and run the First Order simultaneously.
Though we know that Rian Johnson had Snoke's design changed for The Last Jedi because he wanted him to look less frail, that doesn't fully explain the discrepancies between the two movies.
