10 More Deleted Movie Scenes You Won't Believe Actually Happened
6. The Scarlet Witch Decapitates Mordo - Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness
It may already possess some of the most unexpectedly savage visuals ever pumped into an MCU flick, but there was actually a moment there when Sam Raimi threatened to get even more disturbing in the thick of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Speaking during the audio commentary that accompanied the digital release of the super-film, Raimi and writer Michael Waldron explained how there was once a moment in the universe-hopping tale that involved Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch brutalising yet another familiar face.
Early in the day, a moment involving Mordo from universe 616 trying to take Wanda Maximoff's power would've led to the one-time pal of Stephen Strange being killed. And this early death would've ultimately then played into another unsettling scene which would've seen the Scarlet Witch delivering the severed head of Mordo to the Master of the Mystic Arts.
Feeling it slowed down the feature too much in the end, though, "we had to lose it" were Raimi's closing comments on the since deleted moment of savagery that would've shown Wanda cutting "his head off right halfway through his ears" as Waldron put it. Yikes.
