3. Paul Rudd's Blind Date - Bridesmaids
Preparing to deliver one hell of an unexpected cameo showing from one of Hollywood's most loved comedy stars, Paul Feig's 2011 smash hit Bridesmaids very nearly came with additional Paul Rudd brilliance.
The moment in question would've involved Rudd playing one of Annie's disastrous dates, with the eventual Ant-Man star playing against type as a hot-headed diva who loses his cool when his finger gets sliced mid-ice-skating trip. And things were looking good as the moment tested well in early screenings, with Kristen Wiig explaining how "people just went crazy" when Rudd's hilarious performance showed up in the flick.
But with the first cut of the side-splitting picture being too damn long, the difficult decision was eventually made to sacrifice this unanticipated appearance.
Feig would even go as far as to class Rudd's work as "one of the funniest things I've ever been a witness to." Yet, that still couldn't keep him from having to "kill his baby", so to speak, with the director feeling it just didn't "ring true" that Annie would be torn between Jonn Hamm's Ted and Chris O'Dowd's Nathan and also going out on numerous blind dates at the same time.
