10 More Epic Movie Moments You Won't Believe Didn't Use CGI
8. Ethan Actually Fights Gabriel On Top Of A Train - Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One
You just knew he was going to show up on this list at some point, didn't you?
It doesn't matter how insane the sequence may look on paper and how less dangerous it would be to simply have the actor throw down in front of a green screen, Tom Cruise will almost always be up for throwing himself right into the middle of a magnificently crafted practical set-piece.
His latest performance as Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One boasted more than a few insane moments that made you understandably question whether what you were watching was made with some CGI assistance or 100% the real deal.
And when it comes to the fight between the leading man and Hunt's latest adversary Gabriel on top of a moving train, behind-the-scenes footage would ultimately reveal that Cruise once again opted to pull off this stunt for real.
With the specially built vehicle moving at up to 60mph during the shooting of the high-speed fisticuffs, Cruise's on-screen rival Esai Morales would explain how the filming of the dangerous fight was "trial by fire."
Knowing Cruise, though, the fact the team managed to actually successfully execute this thrilling battle atop a speeding train will only inspire him and director Christopher McQuarrie to raise the stakes even more in Part Two.
Prepare for Hunt performing a dropkick on a plane wing, folks.
