10 More Films Hollywood Needs To Apologize For

7. Hitman: Agent 47

Once mooted as a possible vehicle for Vin Diesel, Hitman gets an upgrade in this reboot of the 2007 movie. No longer a mere assassin and no longer played by Timothy Olyphant (Homeland’s does a good job of filling his shoes), Agent 47 is now a superhero Jason Bourne who engages in some astonishingly athletic gunplay when he isn’t taking out his opponents with bombs and helicopters.

Coming from the studio and screenwriter that brought you A Good Day To Die Hard, Agent 47 had the odds stacked against it before it even reached theaters but as long as you don’t approach it with the expectations of seeing a good movie you might enjoy it. In a dumb, senseless I-Can’t-Beileve-This-Got-Made kind of way.

When it comes to movies about killers with abnormal speed, intelligence and strength, Wanted did that whole yarn back in 2008 (with a naked Angelina Jolie, no less). Small world dept: Thomas Kretschmann, who played James McAvoy’s father in that film, also appears here as one of the villains. But that’s probably just a coincidence.
