5. In the Mood for Love (2000)
If there is one word to describe Wong Kar-Wais romantic drama about two lost souls, it would be beautiful. Beautifully shot, beautifully written, beautifully acted...you get where this is going. Every single frame within the film is a work of art (selecting just one header photo for this entry will probably take an hour).
Chungking Express, a previous effort by Kar-Wai, is one of the most gorgeous releases the Criterion Collection has released on Blu-ray to date, so the fact that they havent upgraded the gut-wrenching film is a mystery.
