9. Principal Wilkins - Trick 'r Treat

Warner Bros. Pictures

Michael Dougherty's Trick r' Treat is one of the all-time great horror anthology pictures. Hitting silver screens back in 2007, this offering served up four Halloween-based short stories that were all loosely connected by Sam, a cute, mischievous demon.

In the first of Trick r' Treat's tales, Dylan Baker's Principal Wilkins is the star of the show. When one of his students, Charlie, steals candy, Wilkins berates the kid on the traditions of Halloween and offers the youngster a chocolate bar. For poor Charlie, this treat is laced with poison, causing him to vomit up a glorious mixture of blood and coco, before he drops dead.

As Wilkins is then shown trying to bury Charlie in his back garden, the audience also discovers that the principal has the body of another child there waiting to be buried. Even worse, once back inside his home, it appears that Wilkins is about to stab his own son Billy... only for this to be a swerve, as Wilkins and his boy carve up Charlie's severed head ala a jack-o'-lantern.

Skipping ahead to Trick 'r Treat's third story, Surprise Party, Anna Paquin's Laurie finds herself separated from her friends and dressed as Little Red Riding Hood, as a sinister creep stalks her. That creep winds up being Principal Wilkins, but he unwittingly ends up in over his head when it's revealed that Laurie and her pals are actually werewolves - meaning Wilkins is soon feasted on.
