10 More Horror Movie Characters You Couldn't Wait To See Die

Those figures you were eagerly hoping to see meet a grizzly fate.

In theory, horror movies should have us all cheering on the supposed protagonists of these pictures, hoping for them to avoid the nefarious threat of the day. After all, the aim of such films is usually to deliver an evil so vile or sinister that you can't wait to see someone put a stop to this creepy presence.

Of course, not every character featured in these offerings are likeable, decent people, and thus it can be hard to truly get behind such figures in their quest to overcome whatever murderer, monster or spooky manifestation looms large. In fact, not just can it be hard to get behind these people, but they can be so unlikeable that you actually find yourself pulling for the menace of these movies.

We previously carved up last year's 10 Horror Movie Characters You Couldn't Wait To See Die list, which means that Wooley from Dawn of the Dead, Darcy from Green Room, Yong-suk from Train to Busan, Brendan from Fresh, Captain Rhodes from Day of the Dead, Norma from Carrie, Rose the Hat from Doctor Sleep, Rose Armitage from Get Out, Jeremiah from Bones, and Mrs. Carmody from The Mist are all off limits here. Still, there are so many other figures to spotlight for their d**kish behaviour.

With that in mind, then, here are ten more horror characters who you were eagerly hoping to see meet a grizzly fate.

10. Ben - The Deep House

2021's The Deep House is a, no pun intended, deeply unsettling offering that's overflowing with tension and nerve-jingling claustrophobia. It also happens to have an utter prick as one of its two central characters.

Said prick is James Jagger's Ben, and it's his obsessive behaviour that gets he and his girlfriend Tina into a whole host of trouble.

Plot-wise, The Deep House has Ben and Tina as a couple of YouTubers who are touring Europe to explore haunted houses. With Ben in particular constantly thinking of likes, views, and subscriptions, the pair find themselves in France as they seek out a sanatorium that's located at the bottom of a lake. Unfortunately, upon arriving at this locale, it turns out the lake is a hugely popular tourist spot, and thus Ben and Tina are unable to film content.

While Tina is eager to just enjoy some vacation time, Ben learns of a hidden sunken mansion that's a little off the beaten track. Despite Tina's hesitation, Jagger's character badgers her into exploring this underwater abode.

That this house is bizarrely in immaculate condition should've been a major red flag, and the duo then find scratches on doors, torture masks, and eventually a few pristine corpses. As Tina pleads with Ben to head back to the surface, he can't help but delve further and further into this property, all in his quest to garner more clicks.

So, when Ben finally meets his demise at the hands of the spirits of this mansion, it's an extremely cathartic moment.
