10 More Horror Movie Sequels That Had No Right To Be This Good

Tommy Wirkola's Dead Snow won a whole host of plaudits upon its release as 2009 rolled into 2010, with the humour, heart, and heaps of gore striking a cord with many a horror hound. Nazi zombies attacking a group of young adults in the snowy Norwegian hills? That's certainly quite the unique premise, and it was one that was unique enough to pull off once, but surely couldn't be replicated.

Well, Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead not only replicated that 2009 movie, but it managed to better it.

As this sequel opens up, original survivor Martin accidentally has a zombie arm attached to him after a misunderstanding. While that's quite the pickle, the silver lining for Martin is this gives him the ability to summon the undead for his own means - which comes in extremely handy when he and his new Zombie Squad pals have to face the wrath of Herzog, a former right-hand man of Adolf Hitler.

Much like the first film, Dead Snow 2 is at times beautiful to look at, with the crisp scenery popping from the screen. Likewise, that snowy white scenery also comes in mightily handy for showcasing elaborate sequences of bloodshed and brutality. Dead Snow is an absolutely bonkers, brilliant movie, and Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead is that and then some.
