7. A Change Of Scenery For Jason Voorhees

Sure, Jason Voorhees is synonymous with Crystal Lake, but by the time of the Friday the 13th franchise's eighth installment, fans were keen to see a change of scenery for this most iconic of killers. After all, there's only so many times you can stalk Camp Crystal Lake and its cabins before things start to become stale; even if F13 Part VII: The New Blood attempted to freshen things up by introducing the telekinetic Tina Shepard into the mix.

Despite trying to veer away from the familiar slasher formula, The New Blood still took place in Crystal Lake and still had Jason slicing his way through a slew of young adults. However, Friday the 13th Part VIII promised to give fans a much-needed change of approach... by sending Voorhees to New York in Jason Takes Manhattan.

While we did get to finally see Crystal Lake's most infamous son venture out of his home turf, Jason's rampage throughout the Big Apple wasn't exactly what we were led to believe it would be. In fact, Voorhees - and his victims, of course - spent the bulk of the movie on a boat, only arriving in NYC for the film's final 20 minutes or so.

Essentially, the title would've been more suitable as Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes (a Tiny Bit of) Manhattan (Eventually).
