10 More Horror Movies That Gave Fans EXACTLY What They Wanted (And They Hated It)

3. Halloween Ends Delivers A Final Battle For The Ages

The final leg of David Gordon Green's trilogy, Halloween Ends gave fans one final battle between Laurie Strode and Michael Myers. And so, the conclusion of this 2022 picture sees Laurie and her granddaughter Allyson slit the throat and wrists of Michael before a police escort leads them to a scrapyard, where the Shape is ground to itty-bitty pieces courtesy of an industrial shredder.

In terms of finality, the demise of Michael Myers in Halloween Ends is as definitive and chapter-closing as it gets. As for the Michael vs. Laurie fight that brought a close to this long-time rivalry, that was indeed fitting for such a pivotal piece of horror movie history.

Of course, the problem was, whilst Ends does indeed give us this final, fatal meeting of these two iconic characters, there was a lot to get to before we finally had Michael and Laurie going face-to-face. Notably, it was Corey Cunningham who took centre-stage for the bulk of Halloween Ends, with Myers relegated to the sewers of Haddonfield and only fully resurfacing in the film's final 20 minutes.

So yes, Halloween Ends did give us a brilliant last battle between the franchise's legendary two gunslingers, but the picture left so many frustrated with what else we had to watch to get to that point.
