10 MORE Horror Movies That Go Totally Insane At The End

Immaculate is perfectly OK. It's a fairly predictable knock-off of Rosemary's Baby, and much of it is fairly generic, yet you will definitely remember it. Why? Because it goes all-out with its ending, which contains one of the most disturbing birthing scenes in recent memory. 

In this one, Sister Cecilia (Sydney Sweeney) is a nun who's inexplicably become pregnant, and it eventually emerges that a priest, Father Tedeschi (Money Heist's Alvaro Morte), has impregnated her using DNA samples from the Holy Nail (one of the nails used to crucify Jesus). He plans to create a new messiah. 

Following this revelation, we get a climax that just keeps ramping up and up and up, as Cecilia escapes in a gruesomely violent showdown, and then, we get... the scene. The one no-one will ever forget. 

A gore-soaked Cecilia gives birth in a harrowing, protracted sequence featuring some of the most demented acting Sweeney has ever done. It's shot mostly in an unbroken close-up as Cecilia screams into the camera, even biting through the umbilical cord herself. When she does finally deliver the baby, it appears to be something demonic... and so Cecilia gets a rock and crushes the infant to death. End of movie. 

Once again, the film itself is three stars at the most, but it's worth seeing for this ending alone.
